Now that you have read a couple of opinion pieces and have learned the structure and process for writing one, it is time to apply all this knowledge and write an opinion piece of your own. In this activity you will be selecting a topic from a list and writing a series of paragraphs expressing your opinion on the issue.

Before you begin the assignment, review the content section in Activity 3. Focus on the process for writing a series of paragraphs expressing an opinion using the graphic organizer, since you will be expected to use this strategy.
